Reflections from the Field – Tavarua: Day Two

Got a full night of sleep and woke up at 7 this morning and got back to work. Last night there was a few of these geckos at our bure and this morning there was two of them doin it like they do on the discovery channel.

After breakfast, Jess, Dylan and I went into Dylan’s office and spent the whole day going over their operations and seeing what is already in place and what needs to be done.

We learned a lot about the resort and they’ve done some really impressive work with the local community and on the island. Eventually Dylan had to tend to some other business, so Jess and I and a few of the guests went for a surf, but the wind was onshore so the waves were too crumbly and soft so it was a no-go, but the rain cleared this afternoon after it poured this morning and I got to see the resort and surrounding scenery with clear blue skies and it’s beautiful…
