Reflections from the Field – Casa Tucan & Safari Surf

Hola! Bienvenidos a mi blog! Similar to my “Livin’ the Dream for College Credit” blog about my work with Tavarua Island Resort in Fiji, Bula from Tavarua, I’ll be posting to the Center for Surf Research website about my work with Casa Tucan Hotel in Nosara, Costa Rica, the headquarters for Safari Surf School, a Billabong Surf Camp. Nosara is a small town in the Guanacaste Province on the Pacific side of the country. The hotel is a three minute walk from Playa Guiones, a four mile stretch of strong and powerful beach break with a wildlife refuge around its perimeter so the jungle meets the surf. Dr. Jess Ponting and I leave tomorrow, where we will be working with the owners of Casa Tucan and Safari Surf, brother’s Tim and Tyler Marsh (San Diego, CA), who want to become a best practice model for sustainable surf schools and surf camps in Costa Rica. Follow my blog to see what kind of work I’ll be doing and how much fun I’ll be having over the next three weeks!
