CSR Invites Feedback On New Web Resources

CSR remains committed to connecting a global community of surf researchers. To honor this commitment, we are improving online resources that will help our members better communicate and disseminate knowledge in the field. We invite you to test some of our website’s new features, and let us know how CSR can better support your academic work.

In recent weeks, we have been busy with the following projects:

Updating the CSR Bibliography. Our longer-term goal is to create a searchable version of our public bibliography. In the meantime, we are looking to add new books and articles that have been published since our last update in 2013. Our CSR Bibliography Submission Form makes it easy for anyone to make additions the bibliography—a priceless resource for any researcher interested in surf research.

Publicizing Current Surf Research Projects. Many IASA researchers are busy with projects and publications in progress. CSR would like to see these projects proliferate and gain momentum through publicity and cross-polination. Please let us know about which academic projects you are working on, so we can add them to our interactive Surf Research Project Map.

Sharing the Stoke via Podcast. CSR’s Founding Director, Dr. Jess Ponting, has released the first of a series of new Stoke-Cast. The debut episode explores surfing’s impact on combat veterans, a fertile area for academic inquiry. Tune in to hear more about this and future interdisciplinary topics.

Keeping the Conversation Going. If you are an IASA member that has not been added to the CSR email listserv, please drop us a line so we can get you in on the conversation!

We are grateful of everyone’s ongoing support of the Center for Surf Research. We certainly could not do this important work without active participation from the academic community. Please keep in touch to via any of the above channels, and let us know how we can augment your research efforts!
